BARBs

BARB

BARB- BARB means Broadcasting Audience Research Bureau.BARB was set up in 1981 to provide the industry standard television audience measurement service for broadcasters and the advertising industry. BARB is owned by BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BSkyB and the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) and is a not for profit company.

I have chose to pick the top 10 TV shows from Channel 4.

Judging by the top 10 TV shows from channel 4 this channel's target audience is teenagers and adults because its more for around there age range. Also the shows are on late at night which is more around the time teenagers and adults are awake.Even though the shows are aimed for adults they seem to get a lot of teenage viewers. For example Goggle Box is aimed for adults but teenagers watch it because it they're people there age on the show and they find it comedically relatable.

Legend, Everest, Macbeth,Miss You Already all have the UK links.

The History Of Animation

The History Of Animation.

Persistence of vision-
Is commonly known as an optical illusion which is made from a collection of photos that blend together into one. This is believed to be the start of animation and animated films.

Zoetrope-
Was made in the 19th century and it was an optical toy that had a series of pictures in the inner part of the cylinder that when it spun around it gave an illusion of the pictures moving.

Phenakistoscope-
The phenakistoscope (also spelled phenakistiscope or phenakitiscope) was an early animation device that used the persistence of vision principle to create an illusion of motion.

Kineticscope-
Kineticscope is an early motion picture device. This was designed for films to be seen by one person at a time and you had to view it through a peep hole at the top of the device. When you looked through the peep hole they would be a range of photos that moved.

Thaurmatrope-
A thaurmatrope was a popular toy in the early 19th century. It is made with a disc with a picture on each side with a piece of string through it. When you twist the strings and then let go the image will move and will create the illusion of it moving.
